Otega Oweh continues to reach milestones as Kentucky Basketball transfer
Kentucky Basketball star senior guard Otega Oweh keeps rewriting the record book, and Saturday’s performance added another major milestone to his growing legacy.
Oweh has now scored 20 or more points in an SEC game for the 20th time in his career. According to Matt Jones of KSR, it’s the most 20-point SEC games by any Kentucky player in the last 30 years, surpassing the previous mark of 19 held by former Wildcat standout Antonio Reeves.
Oweh’s scoring has also placed him in elite company. He and former national player of the year Oscar Tshiebwe are now the only transfers in Kentucky history to record 500+ points in multiple seasons, according to Chris Fisher, which is a testament to both productivity and consistency.
Even more impressively, Oweh appears on the list of top scoring seasons by a Kentucky transfer twice, once from last year and again this season. The rankings highlight his impact:
- Antonio Reeves (23–24): 667
- Oscar Tshiebwe (21–22): 590
- Otega Oweh (24–25): 584
- Kyle Macy (79–80): 540
- Bob Burrow (55–56): 528
- Oscar Tshiebwe (22–23): 527
- Otega Oweh (25–26): 512
Oweh’s presence in two of the top eight spots shows how vital he has been since arriving in Lexington. As the Wildcats continue their late-season push, the senior guard isn’t just delivering wins: He is helping to cement one of the most impressive transfer legacies the program has ever seen.
