Packers Stars Shine at Charity Softball Game for a Good Cause
GRAND CHUTE – Fans of the Green Bay Packers gathered at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium on June 5 to witness the annual Green Bay Charity Softball Game, co-hosted by Packers quarterback Jordan Love and linebacker Micah Parsons. This event aims to support Love’s Hands of 10ve Foundation, which focuses on promoting youth physical and mental health through sports, raising suicide prevention awareness, and enhancing community-police relationships, alongside Parsons' Lion Heart Foundation.
Former Packers star Donald Driver, who has emceed the event in previous years, was also present to engage with supporters. “We’re here for the fans,” Love stated. “Obviously, providing for the foundation and charity game that’s giving back. They love to see the players. They love to have that fan engagement. Sign autographs and have that time to meet the fans here in the summertime.”
Although Parsons is still on the mend from a torn ACL and did not participate in the game, he took on a coaching role for Team Defense, making sure his players were ready. “(Jordan) was talking smack all week,” Parsons joked. “First I was just 'ha ha' because I’m not playing, but now I’m taking it a little more seriously. I’m looking at it as a general manager position.”
Before the game kicked off, players competed in a home run derby, where offensive linemen shone brightly. Darian Kinnard took home the championship with four home runs, while Brant Banks secured second place with three. The game itself saw Team Offense dominate, finishing with a score of 12-2 and claiming the coveted WWE-style Packers belt.
