Patriots Players Eagerly Anticipate A.J. Brown Trade News
WORCESTER - As the clock ticks down to the June 1 trade deadline, speculation around a potential deal for A.J. Brown intensifies. During the inaugural MayeDay Softball Classic at Polar Park on Sunday, several players from the New England Patriots shared their thoughts on the possibility of adding the Philadelphia Eagles' star wide receiver to their roster.
Receiver DeMario ‘Pop’ Douglas expressed enthusiasm about the situation, stating, “If he comes, that would be amazing. Good guy. I follow him on Instagram to see what he does. He’s a ballplayer.” The Patriots are considered frontrunners in the race for Brown, with analysts suggesting that acquiring him might require a future first-round draft pick.
Running back Rhamondre Stevenson echoed Douglas’ sentiments, emphasizing Brown's potential impact on the offense. “I think he’d do a lot. He’s a great player, obviously. One of the best receivers in the league,” Stevenson noted. He added, “That’s above what we do. I just leave it up to the front office. I know they’re going to get people here that will help us win.”
So far this offseason, the Patriots have released Stefon Diggs and signed free agent Romeo Doubs. If Brown joins the team, he would provide a significant boost as a No. 1 receiver, likely altering how opposing defenses approach the Patriots' offensive strategy.
