Patriots' Super Bowl Odds Remain Unchanged Despite A.J. Brown Acquisition
On Monday, the NFL witnessed two major trades that captured the attention of fans and analysts alike. The Cleveland Browns traded star pass rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, while the New England Patriots finalized a deal to bring wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. Interestingly, despite the excitement surrounding Brown's arrival, the Patriots' Super Bowl odds did not shift as significantly as the Rams' did after their trade.
ESPN’s Doug Greenberg reported that the Rams saw their Super Bowl odds improve from +800 to +600 on DraftKings following the acquisition of Garrett. In stark contrast, the Patriots' odds held steady at 16-1. Greenberg explained that the anticipation surrounding Brown's trade had likely already influenced the odds prior to the official announcement, meaning the market had adjusted in advance.
“Hours later, the New England Patriots made a long-expected move for wide receiver A.J. Brown,” Greenberg noted, emphasizing that the pre-existing expectations played a role in maintaining the odds. The Patriots now share the sixth-best odds with the Eagles, while teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs hold stronger positions for a Super Bowl run.
As the reigning AFC champions, the Patriots are expected to be bolstered by Brown's skills on the field. His performance could be pivotal in helping New England bounce back from their recent Super Bowl defeat and strive for a championship in 2027.
