Record-Breaking Sale for Paige Bueckers' WNBA Debut Jersey
The jersey worn by Paige Bueckers during her first game in the WNBA has set a new record, fetching an impressive $64,720, as reported by collectibles retailer MeiGray on Friday. This sale surpasses the previous high for a game-worn WNBA jersey, which was $32,150 for a piece worn by A’ja Wilson during the 2025 WNBA Finals.
According to MeiGray, this transaction marks the highest price ever paid for a game-worn, photo-matched item in women’s sports history. Bueckers, who was the top pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft following her NCAA championship victory with UConn, expressed her disbelief regarding the amount paid for her jersey. "That’s insane to me, just thinking about it,” she said. “It’s crazy. That much money is insane to me. I wouldn’t even pay $10 for my own jersey.”
In her debut on May 16, 2025, Bueckers scored 10 points in 29 minutes of play, though her Dallas Wings lost to the Minnesota Lynx, 99-84. Despite the slow start, Bueckers went on to earn the WNBA Rookie of the Year title, concluding her inaugural season with averages of 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. Her outstanding performance also earned her All-Star recognition and a spot on the All-WNBA Second Team.
Despite a challenging season for the Wings, who ended with a 10-34 record, they secured the top draft pick again, using it to select Azzi Fudd, a teammate from UConn. In the realm of women's sports memorabilia, the highest recorded sale is believed to be the $125,000 for Billie Jean King’s game-used racket from the famous 1973 “Battle of the Sexes.”
