The Boston Red Sox's injured list is getting crowded.

According to multiple reports Saturday, shortstop Trevor Story is the latest player being placed on the IL.

The Red Sox are reportedly recalling infielder Nick Sogard in a corresponding move.

"Source: Trevor Story is going on the IL, and Nick Sogard is coming up from Triple-A Worcester. Story has been dealing with a groin issue for at least most of the season," Red Sox beat writer Tim Healey of The Boston Globe wrote on X.

"Can confirm Trevor Story is headed to the IL with a groin strain. Nick Sogard has been recalled from Triple A Worcester," Red Sox beat reporter Jen McCaffrey added on Bluesky.

Story has recorded three home runs, 19 RBIs and a .206/.244/.303 slash line across 176 at-bats covering 41 games this season.

The two-time All-Star tied his career high with 157 games played, while posting 25 home runs, 96 RBIs and a career-best 31 stolen bases during the 2025 campaign.

Story will be joining the likes of outfielder Roman Anthony (wrist) and ace starting pitcher Garrett Crochet (shoulder) on Boston's injured list.
