Rockies Dominate Giants 8-3, Ryan Feltner Shines in Return from Injury

DENVER, COLORADO - On May 30, the Colorado Rockies secured an impressive 8-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants, marking a successful series win at Coors Field. This game followed a much-needed comeback win for the Rockies the previous night, allowing them to break a five-game losing streak.

Ryan Feltner made a triumphant return to the mound after a stint on the 15-day injured list, and his performance was nothing short of spectacular. He demonstrated remarkable control and efficiency, achieving a 1-2-3 inning in the first with just seven pitches. By the end of the game, Feltner had completed six scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and striking out two batters, while not issuing any walks.

Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer praised Feltner's command, stating, “(His) fastball command was exceptional, slider was good, got double play balls when he needed them early. I just thought he controlled the game very well. He was in attack mode. When he does that, he’s pretty dang good.”

On the offensive side, the Rockies capitalized on Giants’ starter Adrian Houser's struggles, who had a difficult outing. After walking two batters in the first inning, the Rockies quickly took a 2-0 lead. Jake McCarthy later hit a two-run home run in the fourth, extending the Rockies' advantage to 4-0.
