Rutgers Secures Commitment from 2027 O-Tackle Charles Butler
Rutgers football continues to strengthen its offensive line for the upcoming recruitment cycle with the addition of Pennsylvania offensive tackle Charles Butler, who recently announced his commitment via social media. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound athlete from Bishop Canevin High School is expected to make a significant impact on the Scarlet Knights’ roster.
Butler showcased his versatility in high school as a multi-sport athlete, competing in both football and basketball. Throughout his first three years on the football field, he solidified his role on the left side of the offensive line, earning all-conference honors for three consecutive years and being recognized as the Black Hills Conference lineman of the year.
Despite interest from several schools, including James Madison, Kent State, Temple, and Akron, Butler had planned to visit JMU next weekend. However, his recent commitment to Rutgers will prevent that visit from taking place. With his commitment, Butler becomes the eighth addition to Rutgers’ 2027 recruiting class and the second offensive lineman to join the ranks. Currently, he is unranked by the major rating services.
His decision reflects Rutgers' ongoing efforts to bolster its lineup for the future, highlighting the program's recruitment strategy aimed at building a solid foundation for success.
