Seven College Football Programs Shine on the Recruiting Front This May

May is a critical month in college football recruiting, marked by soon-to-be seniors embarking on official visits. As summer approaches, players across the nation begin making crucial decisions, whether it involves switching commitments or selecting their schools for the first time. This past May saw numerous major programs securing commitments from a range of talented athletes, but some teams truly distinguished themselves.

Florida's football team had a standout month, securing four-star talents like running back Andrew Beard and offensive tackle Elijah Hutcheson, among others. With seven new commitments, the Gators are building on a class that already features five-star recruit Maxwell Hiller, hinting at a promising future for the team in Gainesville.

Miami also made headlines with eight new commitments, highlighted by the acquisition of five-star cornerback Donte Wright, who flipped from Georgia. The Hurricanes also welcomed running back Ty Keys, linebacker Aroson Randle Jr., and offensive lineman Jatori Williams, further solidifying their recruiting class.

In Ann Arbor, Michigan’s football program enjoyed a fruitful May, adding 11 commitments that included several four-star prospects. Offensive tackle Jakari Lipsey stands out as the highest-rated pledge for the Wolverines, showcasing the team's efforts to bolster both their offense and defense.

Notre Dame saw continued success under head coach Marcus Freeman, landing eight new recruits, including five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola. Their defensive line recruiting remained strong with commitments from several talented players, further enhancing their prospects for the future.

Ole Miss, despite the absence of head coach Lane Kiffin, had a successful month with eight new commitments, primarily focusing on defensive players. The Rebels’ recent signings reflect a strategic shift as they bolster their defensive lineup.

UCLA may not be the first name that comes to mind for recruiting successes, but they secured 11 new commitments in May, including four-star cornerbacks Juju Johnson and Jerry Outhouse, the latter of whom flipped from Georgia. This influx of talent is expected to add depth to their roster.

Finally, Virginia Tech experienced a significant boost under James Franklin, landing ten of their 17 commitments for the cycle in May. The acquisition of four-star quarterback Peter Bourque marked a notable achievement for the Hokies, who are aiming for a top-tier recruiting class as the cycle progresses.
