Talan Scott Chooses Oklahoma State, Aiming to Make an Impact
Talan Scott, a standout tight end from the American Leadership Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona, has officially committed to Oklahoma State University after a recent visit that left a lasting impression. Initially planning several campus tours this month, Scott found everything he needed during his trip to Stillwater, Oklahoma, and decided to join the Cowboys without further visits.
"I’m pumped to be committed to Oklahoma State and be a Cowboy and help turn around that program," Scott expressed enthusiastically. He highlighted the importance of family within the Cowboys' culture, noting, "What stood out to me constantly was how much family was important to them, not just their own, but as a football team too."
Scott's visit played a crucial role in solidifying his decision. He appreciated the quieter campus atmosphere during his trip, stating, "School was out so it was not super busy, which I liked, so we could get around school pretty easily and see everything.”
Engaging with the coaching staff was also pivotal for Scott. He spent significant time with offensive coaches, including Sean Brophy and Eric Morris, discussing how he would fit into their plans. "They made it very clear to me and I didn’t feel like I was just being told something to be told it," he remarked.
Connecting with current players was another highlight, particularly his time with Harrison Dempsey, who previously played for Oklahoma State before moving to North Texas. Dempsey's insights into the coaching style and team dynamics further reassured Scott about his decision.
With his commitment to Oklahoma State now official, Scott is eager to shift his focus to his senior season and contribute to his high school team.
