Teagan Kavan Makes History as First Two-Time WCWS Most Outstanding Player

Teagan Kavan has once again proven her dominance on the mound, leading the Texas Longhorns to their second consecutive Women's College World Series (WCWS) championship. After playing a crucial role in securing Texas's inaugural title last year, Kavan showcased her skills once more, particularly during the decisive Game 2 against No. 11 Texas Tech, where she secured the last six outs, five of which were strikeouts.

For her exceptional performance throughout the tournament, Kavan was named the Most Outstanding Player (MOP) of the WCWS for the second year in a row, marking a historic achievement as the first player ever to win this honor consecutively. Over the course of the tournament, she accumulated an impressive total of 30 strikeouts in 33 and one-third innings pitched.

In the championship game, Kavan came in as a reliever for Citlaly Gutierrez during the sixth inning and displayed remarkable control, allowing only one run in 19 innings since February.
