After parting ways with the Golden State Warriors this summer, former assistant coach Terry Stotts is on the lookout for his next head coaching opportunity. Stotts, who spent two seasons with the Warriors, follows in the footsteps of Jerry Stackhouse, another former assistant who is also exploring coaching positions this off-season.

NBA insider Marc Stein reports that Stotts is "certain" to have an interview with the Dallas Mavericks, who are seeking a new head coach following the departure of Jason Kidd. Stotts brings a wealth of experience to the table, boasting 13 years in head coaching roles, along with a previous stint as an assistant with the Mavericks from 2008 to 2012.

Should Stotts secure the position, he will play a crucial role in the development of Cooper Flagg, the recent Rookie of the Year Award winner and last year's No. 1 overall draft pick. This potential hiring highlights the Mavericks' commitment to building a strong foundation for their future.
