Texas to Compete Against Louisville in Upcoming SEC/ACC Challenge
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The University of Texas will face off against Louisville in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge, with both the men’s and women’s basketball teams participating. The women’s squad, featuring standout All-American forward Madison Booker, will take on the Cardinals at the Moody Center on December 2. Meanwhile, the men’s team will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to play at the KFC Yum! Center on December 1.
This matchup marks a unique occurrence, as Texas and Louisville are the only teams scheduled to compete against each other in both men's and women's events. The men’s competition will also showcase a highly anticipated rematch between Duke and Florida in Gainesville, while the women's side features a marquee game with national runner-up South Carolina facing Duke in Durham.
As the Associated Press prepares to release its preseason rankings, many of the games are expected to feature teams within the top 25. Details regarding game times and specific broadcast information will be provided at a later date, but all 32 matches of the SEC/ACC Challenge, across both men's and women's competitions, are set to air on ESPN networks from December 1-3.
Last year, the Florida vs. Duke game attracted 1.7 million viewers, contributing to a notable increase in audience size for both men's and women's games, with year-over-year growth exceeding 25%. This event continues to highlight the rising popularity of college basketball.
