Three-Star WR Anthony Williams Announces Commitment Date Following UNC Visit

Anthony Williams, a three-star wide receiver from Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, recently wrapped up his official visit to the University of North Carolina and has set a commitment date for June 14. He intends to announce his decision at 6 p.m. after completing another visit to East Carolina later this week.

Williams is considering four schools in total, with North Carolina, East Carolina, Liberty, and Virginia Tech making the cut. During his weekend at UNC, he felt a strong connection to both the football program and the university itself. “I loved how welcoming everyone was,” Williams shared, adding that staff members proactively answered his questions before he even had the chance to ask.

The standout receiver noted that UNC's head coach, Bill Belichick, recognized his versatility on the field. “Coach Belichick likes how I can play inside and outside and they need players like me that can do that,” he explained. Williams was particularly impressed by the campus vibe and the friendliness of both students and faculty. “The people were amazing... I could tell there were a lot of God-centered people who have Christ in their lives,” he remarked.

Having lived in Greenville, North Carolina, until he was six, Williams is eager to return to the state for his upcoming visit to East Carolina, which is scheduled from Thursday to Saturday. He mentioned that the opportunity for early playing time with the Pirates is an appealing factor in his decision-making process.
