Three-Star WR Davion Crumitie Pledges to Vanderbilt

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Davion Crumitie, a three-star wide receiver from James Rickards High School, has officially committed to Vanderbilt, marking a significant decision in his recruitment journey. The announcement came on Saturday evening, following his decommitment from Syracuse earlier this year.

The 5-foot-11 athlete had drawn attention from various programs, including Auburn, Kansas State, Kentucky, Florida, and Wisconsin, but ultimately chose the Commodores. Crumitie is currently ranked as the No. 529 overall recruit and No. 73 wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, which aggregates data from major recruiting outlets. In addition, he holds the position of the No. 43 player in the state of Florida.

After stepping back from his initial commitment to Syracuse, Crumitie quickly identified Vanderbilt as a front-runner. In a conversation with Rivals’ Chad Simmons earlier this year, he expressed the importance of finding a strong connection with the coaching staff. “What I’m looking for in a school is a good relationship with the coaching staff first,” he stated. “Then it is a great education and the fastest way to get on the field.”

Crumitie’s commitment adds depth to Vanderbilt's recruiting class, which is currently ranked within the top 40 by Rivals. He becomes the eighth commitment for head coach Clark Lea's program. During his junior season, Crumitie showcased his skills with 63 receptions for 980 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also contributing defensively with 29 tackles and an interception.
