Ticket Costs for NBA Finals Game 3 Reach Astounding Heights

As anticipation builds for Game 3 of the NBA Finals featuring the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, ticket prices are skyrocketing to unprecedented levels. According to TickPick and reported by Steve Popper of Newsday, the entry price for this pivotal game at Madison Square Garden has surged to an astonishing $7,390.

This figure represents a staggering increase of 1,148% compared to the get-in price for Game 2, which stood at $635 in San Antonio. To put this into perspective, attending all seven games of the 2025 NBA Finals would cost a total of $3,254, which is 143% less than the price of a single ticket for Game 3 this year.

Moreover, for less than the cost of one Game 3 ticket, a fan could enjoy every remaining game of the New York Yankees and Mets this season, along with all the games for the New York Giants and Jets. In total, this amounts to 120 games for just $4,558, highlighting the outrageous nature of current ticket prices.

Interestingly, Spurs fans seem to be minimally represented in the ticket sales, with only 1.6% of buyers for Game 3 coming from Texas. In stark contrast, 66% of the tickets sold have gone to fans from New York and New Jersey. During Game 2, 33% of tickets were purchased by fans from New York and New Jersey, while 26% were from Texas.

The soaring prices can largely be attributed to the high demand and the excitement surrounding the Knicks' impressive playoff journey. The franchise has not made a Finals appearance since 1999, and their last championship win dates back to 1973. As the Knicks continue their playoff run, it’s expected that ticket prices will only rise further, especially if they create an opportunity to clinch the title at Madison Square Garden.
