Tulare County fans pick high school wrestlers of the year
The results are in.
After nearly 1 million combined votes, Visalia Times-Delta/Tulare Advance Register's readers have selected the 2026 Tulare County Fans' Choice Wrestlers of the Year.
Redwood's Emily Carvalho received 822,686 votes or a 99.43% majority to win the Tulare County girls wrestler of the year honors.
In February, Carvalho, a junior, turned in a silver-medal performance, winning her first four state matches before falling in the 190-pound championship match.
Farmersville's Sergio Valencia, a state tournament qualifier, finished first in the boys poll with 36,264 selections or a 45.79% majority to earn the Tulare County boys wrestler of the year award.
