Unregistered Drone Neutralized Near South Korean Training Facility Ahead of World Cup Match

In a security incident on Tuesday, the Mexican military successfully intercepted and destroyed an unauthorized drone that was spotted flying over South Korea's training base in Guadalajara. This event occurred just days before South Korea's highly anticipated Group A match against co-host Mexico.

The drone's presence raised concerns about potential espionage as South Korea prepared for their opening game of the World Cup. Head coach Hong Myung-bo commented on the situation during a press briefing, stating, "It did not impact us significantly, but while we were preparing for the match, that was the most important timing, so what happened was unfortunate."
