ATLANTA – As the U.S. Men's National Team prepares to face Senegal in the FIFA World Cup 2026, strikers Folarin Balogun, Haji Wright, and Ricardo Pepi are brimming with enthusiasm. Each player brings unique qualities to the roster, yet they share a common goal: to excel on the grandest stage of soccer. The trio enters training camp in stellar form, having shone in their respective European leagues.

During the 2025-26 season, all three forwards not only led their clubs in scoring but collectively netted an impressive 56 goals across all competitions. This competitive edge is bound to enhance the USMNT’s attack as they seek to make an impact in the tournament. “We all have different tools, but at the end of the day we all want to help the team,” Pepi expressed. “I feel like we can adapt very well to each other. We have very good chemistry, and we’re ready to help the team.”

Balogun, the most experienced of the group, scored 19 times in 43 appearances for AS Monaco and boasts a remarkable eight goals in just 24 caps for the national team. “It’s important to bring that with the National Team, and to bring that to the biggest stage of all the World Cup,” Balogun said, emphasizing his confidence and readiness for the challenge ahead. His recent performances for the USMNT have showcased his ability to deliver in critical moments.

Wright, who contributed 18 goals for Coventry City, has previous World Cup experience, having represented the U.S. in Qatar. He recently secured a brace against Australia, further solidifying his reputation as a key player. “Haji is a player with good quality that can play different positions,” said head coach Mauricio Pochettino, highlighting Wright’s versatility and skills.

Pepi also enjoyed a successful season, scoring 19 goals for PSV Eindhoven, including a string of crucial league goals. “Pepi is a killer,” Pochettino remarked, praising his goal-scoring instincts and ability to create opportunities. With the U.S. riding a wave of confidence from their recent performances, they aim to carry that momentum into their upcoming match against Senegal, who ranks No. 14 in the world and features renowned forward Sadio Mané.

As the USMNT gears up for this crucial encounter, the players are not only focused on their scoring ambitions but also on showcasing their collective talent in front of a home crowd during the prestigious World Cup.
