Utah's Premier 2027 Football Prospect: Bode Sparrow of Davis High

KAYSVILLE — Bode Sparrow, a standout athlete from Davis High School, recently found himself juggling family vacation time in Hawaii with an overwhelming influx of recruitment calls from top college football coaches. The 17-year-old receiver and safety has emerged as the leading prep football prospect in Utah, with an impressive list of suitors vying for his commitment.

While enjoying the sun and sand, Sparrow was inundated with calls from coaches including Dan Lanning of Oregon, Brett Venables from Oklahoma, and Mario Cristobal of Miami, among others. “I’m on vacation with my family, and the whole time, I am just taking phone calls,” he explained. “Not many kids get this opportunity, so I’m grateful for it, for sure.”

His father, Ty Sparrow, noted that the recruitment process became so demanding that Bode sometimes spent more time communicating with coaches than focusing on his schoolwork. “One week he was missing a few assignments from his math class, and I asked him why,” Ty recalled. Bode responded, “Dad, I’ve been on the phone for the last three hours with college football coaches. Give me a break.”

As he prepares for his senior season, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Sparrow has solidified his status as a top recruit, currently ranked as the 69th overall player nationally by 247Sports Composite and the fourth-best “athlete” in the country. His journey through the recruitment process has made him one of the most sought-after high school football talents in Utah's history.
