This outing provided the left-hander with yet another chance to improve his ERA, and he seized it. Just a month prior, Detmers faced scrutiny with an ERA of 5.07, raising questions about his role after transitioning from the bullpen to the starting rotation.

In a commanding display, Detmers pitched seven innings without allowing a run, surrendering only three hits and issuing no walks, contributing to the Angels' 7-0 triumph. His season ERA has now dropped to a commendable 3.68. Over his last five starts, he has given up just five earned runs across 33 innings, resulting in an impressive 1.36 ERA, complemented by 39 strikeouts and only five walks.
