Virginia's Top EDGE Prospect Lincoln Halliday to Join IMG Academy

Lincoln Halliday, a standout defensive edge rusher from Virginia, is making a significant move to further his football career. The Class of 2028 athlete, who has been a key player for Chesapeake's Oscar Smith High School, recently announced via social media that he will transfer to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Halliday's decision comes as he continues to attract attention from major college programs, holding offers from institutions such as Michigan, South Carolina, Syracuse, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech. He expressed his excitement about this new chapter, stating, "New Chapter!!! Time to work."

IMG Academy has recently bolstered its roster with several high-profile transfers, including 2028 four-star offensive lineman Eytan D’Oleo and three-star EDGE Andre Robinson from Camden, New Jersey. Halliday's addition signifies the academy's ongoing strategy to recruit elite talent nationwide.

This upcoming season, the Ascenders will compete against formidable opponents, including St. Louis (HI), The St. James Academy (VA), Cornerstone Christian (TX), and St. Frances Academy (MD). Following an undefeated 10-0 season, IMG Academy is recognized for having one of the most talented high school football teams in the country, featuring top recruits like five-star EDGE Zyron Forstall and four-star quarterback Jayden Wade.
