‘We Love You’ — Deion Sanders Sends Heartfelt Message to Wife of Late Colorado Writer After Tragic Passing
Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders has maintained a tense, adversarial relationship with the local media since arriving in Boulder to lead the Buffaloes. Coach Prime has sparred with local beat reporters on several occasions, restricted player access, and staged viral press-conference standoffs.
But there are moments when Sanders shows affection for reporters, especially when they are down due to health conditions, or when he expresses his love for the family of a deceased reporter.
Deion Sanders Offers Soft Spot To Family of BuffStampede.com Publisher Adam Munsterteiger
One instance in which Coach Prime showed a soft spot for a local writer’s family occurred on Saturday, when he offered words of encouragement to the wife of veteran sports reporter Adam Munsterteiger, who died Tuesday night from undisclosed health conditions.
Munsterteiger’s wife, Liz, wrote a long tweet on X detailing what she went through while her husband lay in a hospital bed. She expressed deep regret over her husband’s death and profound appreciation for those who will make financial donations to the family.

She also urged everyone who knows the reporter to share their stories about him, especially their memories of working with the writer.
“Those words have brought me, the kids, and our whole family so much comfort,” Liz Munsterteiger said.
Coach Prime responded with a tweet, appreciating the Munsterteigers’ work in helping the Buffaloes become a household name not just in Boulder but across the college football landscape. He offered an affectionate message to Liz and the family, and the family left by Adam.
“We Love you and we appreciate u. We got u! 🙏🏾,” Sanders said.
It was not the first time Coach Prime expressed his love for the reporter and his immediate family. On Wednesday, Sanders sent his thoughts and prayers after learning of Munsterteiger’s death.
“Let’s stop taking this day for granted! Someone waaay more deserving didn’t wake up this morning but we did and we somehow take this gift for granted. Today is a gift therefore let’s live it being appreciative & kind. God bless u,” Sanders wrote on social media.
“We appreciated u @adamcm777 and respected u truly. Thank u for being u and I’m praying for entire family, friends & loved ones. Adam is 1 of 1. God bless!”
Sanders’ heartfelt messages to the Munsterteigers also demonstrated his respect for sports reporters, even though he has had rough patches with them in recent years as the Buffaloes’ head coach.
Adam Munsterteiger has served as BuffStampede.com’s publisher since 2003, and his reports and podcast have helped the site become one of the state’s leading sports websites for nearly two decades.
