Wilson High School's Michael Glover Chooses James Madison University for College Football
Wilson High School senior Michael Glover has officially announced his commitment to James Madison University, marking an exciting step in his athletic career. The talented tight end, who has garnered attention as an All-State player, received over 20 Division I offers prior to his senior year.
At 6-foot-3 and weighing 225 pounds, Glover has established himself as a formidable presence on the field since his freshman year. His versatility allows him to make significant contributions, whether he is receiving, rushing, or blocking. “I love being able to do all these different things in receiving, rushing, and blocking,” he noted following a District 3 6A quarterfinal game against William Penn. “That’s why I love being the tight end. It’s awesome that my coaches trust me to use me in different ways. I just want to keep doing that and do whatever I can to help my team win.”
During his junior season, Glover achieved impressive stats, accumulating 572 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 35 receptions, along with 216 rushing yards and two additional touchdowns. Defensively, he contributed with 44 tackles and three sacks, showcasing his all-around talent.
Glover will join a James Madison Dukes team that had an impressive record of 12-2 last season and made it to the College Football Playoff, ultimately facing off against No. 5 Oregon. Throughout his high school career, Wilson's quarterbacks have consistently relied on Glover as a key target, whether it was Mason Young last season or Madyx Gruber the year before.
As he approaches his final high school season, Glover aims to further enhance his skills on the field. He will have the support of former Wyomissing star Justice Hardy, who recently transferred to Wilson and committed to Louisville. Under the guidance of head coach Doug Dahms, Glover and his teammates are poised for a dynamic season in 2026.
