Yankees' Schlittler Stifles Red Sox Again in Dominant Performance

The Boston Red Sox have struggled to find answers against New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler, who has now faced them three times in his career, with the Red Sox coming up empty in each matchup. On Sunday, Schlittler continued his impressive streak, leading the Yankees to a 6-1 victory at Yankee Stadium.

In this latest outing, Schlittler showcased his skills by limiting Boston to just one run, allowing four hits and issuing one walk while striking out five batters over 5 2/3 innings. This performance further solidified his dominance over the Red Sox, lowering his career ERA against them to an impressive 0.83.

Since debuting in the Major Leagues last year, the 25-year-old Schlittler has been a force on the mound, but his success against Boston has been particularly notable. In 21 2/3 innings pitched against the Red Sox, he has surrendered only two earned runs.

The Massachusetts native and Northeastern University alumnus first made a significant impact on the Red Sox last October, where he delivered eight scoreless innings in Game 3 of the AL Wild Card Round, effectively ending Boston's season. His first start at Fenway Park this April also featured eight strong innings against the team.

Although Sunday marked his shortest outing against the Red Sox, Schlittler remained effective, finishing just one out shy of a quality start. With their next encounter not scheduled until late June, the Red Sox have time to strategize on how to overcome Schlittler's mastery.
