Yankees vs. Red Sox Game Postponed; Rescheduled for Late August

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - June 1: After a minor delay, the highly anticipated matchup between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox has been postponed. As a result, the two teams will play a doubleheader on August 29, with the first game slated to begin at 1:05 p.m. at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees announced that fans who purchased tickets for the originally scheduled game will have access to the first game of the doubleheader later this summer. Meanwhile, Sunday’s game will proceed as planned at 1:35 p.m., allowing pitcher Cam Schllitler to maintain his schedule and take the mound.

Will Warren, who was set to pitch on Saturday, will now start in the series opener against the Guardians in Cleveland on Monday, where he will face off against standout pitcher Gavin Williams. Notably, Warren has excelled on the road this season, boasting a 2.25 ERA in five away starts.

There is currently uncertainty surrounding the Yankees’ catching situation, with Ali Sánchez potentially making his debut in place of the injured Austin Wells. The team might also consider using J.C. Escarra, who has made a brief return. For the Red Sox, left-handed pitcher Ranger Suárez is expected to remain on schedule for Sunday’s game.

Enjoy your evening, and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
