SIOUX FALLS — The SDGA Two-Woman Amateur Championships, held on June 13-14 at Willow Run Golf Course, saw Mitchell's Allison Meyerink and Aberdeen's Olivia Braun, a recent high school graduate, finish in third place in the championship division. The pair posted a combined score of 3-over-par 143 over 36 holes, just four strokes behind the winning team of Sioux Falls' Molly Stevens and Pierre's Natalie Young, who finished at 1-under 139. The second spot was claimed by mother-daughter duo Julie and Reese Jansa from Sioux Falls, who ended with a score of 2-over 142.

The tournament featured a format that included 18 holes of four-ball play followed by 18 holes under Chapman rules. In addition to Meyerink and Braun's performance, the Mitchell team of Mia Larson, a 2026 graduate of MHS, and Anna Eliason, a rising senior, tied for 10th place with a score of 159.

In the Mid-Am championship division, Sioux Falls' Karla Cotton and Jill Mollner emerged victorious with a score of 149, finishing 11 strokes ahead of their nearest competitors. The senior championship division was led by Sioux Falls' Betsy Dewit and Rapid City's Lisa Dorsey, who shot a 150 to secure a narrow one-stroke victory.

Meanwhile, at the SDGA Two-Man Amateur Championship, also held on June 13-14 but at Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club, a playoff was required to determine the champion. Brothers Bob and Colby West from Watertown clinched the title with a birdie on the first playoff hole after a three-way tie at 8-under-par 136. Sioux Falls teams Ryan Jansa and Tom Carlson, along with Ryan Trasamar and Charlie Jacobson, finished tied for second.

In the regular division, a playoff also decided the winner as Sturgis' Tice McVay and Bradley Karl secured their victory with a birdie, outpacing competitors Brennan Thompson and Zac Pruner, as well as Bennett Munger and Pete Wodzinski, who all ended with a score of 5-over 149.
