Analyst offers praise of Rueben Bain Jr. comparing to hall of famer
The selection of Rueben Bain Jr. is going to be looked back upon by analysts and teams alike in the years to come as one of the better values in recent memory. When the pick was announced, everyone couldn't believe the Bucs would have a chance to solve their edge rushing issues with the top player at the position group.
The praise was universal, but the words of The Athletic's Bruce Feldman rang louder than most. On The Athletic's Football Show, he offered up some high praise for Bain coming out of Miami.
Feldman shared his praise of the pick, saying, "Bane is Miami's, with all due respect to Calais Campbell, because he was better in the NFL than he was in Miami. Bain is the best defensive line Miami's had since Warren Sapp. . .I just think you get a guy here who was the most dominant player in the playoff. Like, he killed these teams in the playoff. Miami did not look like an underdog because he got after people. . .I think getting him here is a great value for them."

He even went on to say that "Bain is the best defensive lineman Miami has had since Warren Sapp." 👀🔥

Bain drawing the Sapp comparison bodes well for what it means he could bring the Bucs in 2026 and beyond. If they get half out of Bain that they did with Sapp, then this could be a pick that turns the corner for the franchise and their Super Bowl window.
