Andrew Brunette Confirmed as Head Coach for Nashville Predators by GM Chris MacFarland

Nashville Predators' general manager Chris MacFarland has announced that Andrew Brunette will continue as head coach for the upcoming 2026-27 season. In a recent interview with NHL Network Radio on June 16, MacFarland expressed confidence in Brunette's leadership, stating that he looks forward to collaborating closely with him and the coaching staff during the development camp next week. Despite some shifts in the Predators' front office, Brunette's position remains secure at this time. MacFarland added, “I’m sure we’ll spend a lot of time together over the next few weeks,” indicating an intent to closely align team strategies moving forward.

Brunette, who took over coaching duties from John Hynes in 2023, led the team to the playoffs in his inaugural season, although they faced elimination in the first round against the Vancouver Canucks. The following seasons were more challenging, culminating in the Predators finishing among the bottom teams in the league during the 2024-25 season. Over his three years with Nashville, Brunette holds a record of 115 wins, 108 losses, and 23 overtime losses.

At 52 years old, Brunette has a wealth of coaching experience, having previously led the Florida Panthers to a Presidents' Trophy as head coach after serving as an assistant. He also spent time as an associate coach with the New Jersey Devils before joining the Predators.
