Austin's Cole Hebrink Concludes Tennis Season at State Tournament
Austin senior Cole Hebrink faced a tough challenge at the Class AA individual state tennis tournament, held at the Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota on Thursday. Unfortunately, Hebrink was unable to secure a win, losing both of his matches on the opening day of competition.
In the consolation round, Hebrink was defeated by Logan Lunseth from Blaine, with the final scores of 6-0, 6-3. Earlier in the day, he had lost to third-seeded Tarun Gopalakrishan of The Blake School, who bested him with scores of 6-1, 6-2.
This year marked a significant achievement for Hebrink, who became the first Packer boy to compete in the individual state tournament since 1989. He concluded his season with an impressive record of 16 wins and 6 losses.
