Brewers Fall Short in Series Finale Against A's, 4-3
In a tightly contested game on Wednesday night at Las Vegas Ballpark, the Milwaukee Brewers were unable to secure a series victory, losing 4-3 to the Oakland Athletics. Despite a strong performance from pitcher Brandon Sproat, the Brewers' offense stumbled late in the game, and a rough outing from reliever Chad Patrick proved costly.
The game began positively for Milwaukee, with Christian Yelich drawing a walk and later scoring on Andrew Vaughn's RBI single, giving the Brewers a quick 1-0 lead. Gary Sánchez extended the advantage in the second inning by hitting a leadoff home run, and Jackson Chourio added to the score with a solo shot in the third, marking his sixth homer of the season.
Sproat, who had an impressive six-inning outing allowing only one run, faced challenges but managed to escape a tough situation in the third. However, the tide turned in the seventh when Patrick entered the game and surrendered back-to-back home runs to Carlos Cortes and Lawrence Butler, flipping the score in favor of the A's.
Despite rallying efforts in the eighth inning and bringing the tying run to scoring position, the Brewers' attempt to come back fell short in the ninth. They finished the night with 11 hits but struggled with runners in scoring position, going just 1-for-10.
With the loss, the Brewers are eager to return home after a challenging series. They have a day off before facing the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend, with Jacob Misiorowski slated to pitch against Andrew Painter in their next matchup.
