Chicago White Sox Elevate Pitching Prospect Max Banks to High A
Max Banks, a standout pitcher from the University of Washington, is ascending the ranks within the Chicago White Sox organization. The former Huskies ace wrapped up his time with the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers on Tuesday night and is now heading to the High A affiliate, the Winston-Salem Dash, following his selection in the 14th round of the 2025 MLB draft.
In his inaugural 12 games as a professional, Banks has showcased exceptional performance. With 11 of those outings as a starter, he boasts a 4-1 record and an impressive 1.84 ERA over 58 2/3 innings. His stellar statistics are highlighted by a remarkable 55:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a 1.02 WHIP, indicating his control on the mound.
“Welcome to Winston-Salem, Max Banks!” the Dash tweeted, celebrating his promotion.
Prior to joining the White Sox, Banks made a significant impact during his senior year with the Huskies, after transferring from Chapman University. He quickly became known as one of the top pitchers in the Big Ten, achieving seven wins, which ranked him sixth in the conference. He also finished seventh in ERA with a 3.67, eighth in hits allowed per nine innings at 7.21, and tenth in WHIP at 1.18. In his first season in the conference, Banks led his team with a .222 batting average against and tallied 65 strikeouts.
Though currently unranked in the White Sox's farm system, which features notable left-handed pitchers like Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith, Banks's recent achievements could soon elevate his status among prospects, especially as Schultz approaches a call-up to the majors.
