UConn Football Welcomes Five New Commitments to Class of 2027

EAST HARTFORD, CT - The UConn Huskies football team is making significant strides in recruiting, with the Class of 2027 now boasting a total of 16 commitments. Coach Jason Candle's program has recently secured five new verbal commitments, further solidifying its roster for the upcoming seasons.

Among the latest additions is Jason Madden, an edge rusher from New Jersey. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds, Madden announced his commitment via X on Monday. He brings impressive versatility, having played linebacker, tight end, and wide receiver at Donovan Catholic High School. In his junior year, Madden recorded 80 tackles, including 13 for loss and seven sacks, while also catching three passes for 93 yards and a touchdown over 12 games.

Another promising prospect, cornerback Preston Glasco, also committed to UConn on Monday. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete from Georgia received 12 offers, including interest from Boston College and Army. Glasco is expected to enhance UConn's secondary alongside fellow defensive backs Eltonino Hicks and Alan Blackshere. He visited the campus on June 5 and is set for a final visit to Old Dominion later this month.

Wide receiver Jaydon Rawls joined the Huskies on Friday, bringing his 6-foot-5 frame and 195-pound stature to the team. Rawls has had a varied high school career, playing at multiple schools and accumulating significant stats, including 14 receptions for 193 yards and three touchdowns in his junior year. He is currently ranked as a three-star recruit by Rivals.

Defensive lineman Raph Bonfoh also committed on Friday, showcasing his skills at The St. James Academy in Maryland. At 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, Bonfoh has the versatility to play various positions on the defensive line and is expected to start at UConn as an edge rusher.

Lastly, offensive lineman Krystian Oakley announced his commitment on Friday as well. The Indiana native, who stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 345 pounds, originally intended to reveal his decision later this month but chose to do so early. Oakley is expected to significantly contribute to UConn's offensive line following his official visit on May 29.
