Corey Goguts of Hewitt-Trussville Takes Home ASWA Miss Softball 2026 Honor
JACKSONVILLE — In a remarkable achievement for the 2026 high school softball season in Alabama, Corey Goguts has been awarded the title of Miss Softball. The announcement was made during the Alabama Sports Writers Association's summer conference held at Jacksonville State University.
Goguts had an outstanding season, boasting an impressive batting average of .618, along with 29 home runs, 94 hits, and 91 RBIs. Alongside Goguts, other players recognized for their exceptional performances included Myleigh Dobbins from Saraland (6A), McKinley McCaghren from Lawrence County (5A), Katie King from Orange Beach (4A), and several others across different classifications.
Last year's recipient of the Miss Softball award, Ambrey Taylor from Curry, had a notable season with a .597 average and an OPS of 1.929, contributing significantly to the Alabama softball team.
The 2026 ASWA Super All-State team features top talents including Corey Goguts, Katie King, Myleigh Dobbins, and others who have made a significant impact on their respective teams this season.
Goguts’ win adds her name to a prestigious list of past winners, highlighting the ongoing tradition of excellence in Alabama high school softball.
