POTOMAC PARK — In a thrilling match at Holler Field, the Cresaptown Eagles soared to a 10-5 win over the Travel Mug Sluggers, fueled by an impressive eight-run rally in the fourth inning. With this victory, Cresaptown began their season on a high note, boasting a record of 1-0. Walker Smith led the charge with three hits and two RBIs, while Carson Vonstein added two RBIs from his two hits. Camden Emerick also contributed with two RBIs. On the mound, Liam Harper delivered a stellar performance, throwing five shutout innings without allowing a hit, striking out two batters and issuing one walk.

Grady Miller stood out for the Sluggers (1-1) with a double and two runs batted in, though Ben Kamp faced a tough loss despite a commendable start, allowing one run on four hits over three innings. Cresaptown is set to take on Hampshire at Hamilton Field on Monday at 6 p.m., while the Travel Mug Sluggers will play against Outdoor Power on Tuesday at the same time.

Meanwhile, Hampshire launched a comeback against Westmar Builders, scoring seven runs in the final two innings to secure an 8-4 victory in their Junior Division opener at Memorial Field. Jacob Hite had a standout performance with three hits, including a triple, while Bentley Mynhier went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Mynhier was also the winning pitcher, allowing just one unearned run on one hit over four innings, striking out nine batters.

Parker Wells from Westmar Builders (1-1) threw three shutout innings, striking out four, but was unable to earn the win. Hampshire will face Cresaptown next on Monday at 6 p.m., while Westmar Builders is scheduled to play Bedford on Friday and Flintstone at Memorial Field on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

In another match, Frostburg dominated Amoroso’s with an 11-3 victory, thanks to Jacob Shipe’s remarkable performance, which included two doubles and six RBIs. Shipe went 3 for 4, while Evan Padovini also shined with a 3 for 3 outing, featuring a triple, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Scott Cowan secured the win on the mound, allowing just one run on one hit over 3 1/3 innings, striking out seven batters and walking two.

Brayden Harvey from Amoroso’s (0-2) was a bright spot, going 3 for 3 with a triple, and Gunner Thomas added a double. Bayne Stowell took the loss for Amoroso’s. Frostburg (1-1) will see a rematch against Amoroso’s on Monday at 6 p.m.
