Dwayle Smith, Class of 2028 Defensive Back, Pledges to Iowa Football Program

IOWA CITY — Dwayle Smith, a promising defensive back from the Class of 2028, has officially announced his commitment to the Iowa football team on June 19. This marks the first commitment for the Hawkeyes’ recruiting class for 2028.

Currently a student at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, Smith received interest from several prominent programs, including offers from Iowa, Florida State, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes extended their offer to him in early May, leading to his decision to commit less than two months later.

Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 175 pounds, Smith has already showcased his skills on the field. His sophomore season highlights can be viewed online, showcasing his potential as a key player for the future.
