EA Sports Unveils Cover Athletes for 'College Football 27'
The excitement surrounding EA Sports' 'College Football' series continues to soar, especially after the game's triumphant comeback over the past two years. The 2025 edition achieved remarkable success, becoming the highest-grossing American football video game, surpassing “Madden NFL 07” and ranking as the second-best-selling sports game in the U.S., only behind “NBA 2K21.” As fans eagerly await news about athletes featured on the cover, the anticipation has grown significantly with each release.
In a recent announcement by On3’s Pete Nakos, the cover stars for the upcoming 'College Football 27' have been confirmed. Oregon's quarterback Dante Moore, Miami's wide receiver Malachi Toney, and Ole Miss's running back Kewan Lacy will all be showcased on the game's cover. The official unveiling will occur tomorrow, further exciting fans.
All three athletes are recognized as standout players in college football, each making a strong claim as among the top at their respective positions nationwide. Last season, Moore demonstrated his prowess by throwing for 3,565 yards, achieving 30 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, leading the Ducks to a 13-2 record and a spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Lacy made headlines as he ranked third nationally in rushing, accumulating 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns. Toney topped the nation with an impressive 109 receptions for 1,211 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Expressing his excitement about being featured, Moore stated, “It’s a blessing. Many times, as a kid, you played multiple games that have cover athletes. As a kid, you dream about being on there one day. And when they gave me the phone call and talked to my team about it, I was excited. It was a great shoot, had a great time. I’m excited for the drop.”
Additionally, the deluxe edition of 'College Football 27' will feature USC quarterback Jayden Maiava, Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore, and Indiana's championship-winning head coach Curt Cignetti on its cover. The series has seen a remarkable resurgence since its return, with the 2025 game highlighting Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Colorado's Travis Hunter, and Michigan's Donovan Edwards, while the 2026 edition showcased Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith and Alabama's Ryan Coleman-Williams.
