Eagles WR Makai Lemon first rookie to sign contract

According to a report by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, the first rookie first-round pick has signed their contract. That rookie is Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Makai Lemon. According to Rapoport, the deal is four years and full guaranteed and includes an $11.5 million signing bonus.

The Eagles took Lemon with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft. The pick was filled with drama for a couple of different reasons. First the Eagles traded up ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers to select Lemon while Steelers General Manger Omar Khan was on the phone with the former USC star, as they prepared to draft him as well.

Second, was that the Eagles made that trade with the Dallas Cowboys. The whole situation was so strange because why would Cowboys owner Jerry Jones make a trade with their most heated division rival so that the Eagles could secure an elite offensive weapon?
