Eric Trump’s Controversial Inquiry to Daniel Cormier Raises Eyebrows Ahead of UFC Event
Daniel Cormier, a renowned figure in the UFC and a commentator, stirred up a significant controversy prior to the UFC Freedom 250 event. This incident revolved around a purported conversation with Eric Trump, the son of former President Donald Trump, who allegedly sought insider information regarding the fights scheduled at the White House on June 11.
Cormier took to his X account to reveal details of the exchange, which he later deleted. The conversation began late on June 10 and continued into the early hours of June 11, culminating in a message from Trump that read, “I’ll just cut to the chase. Are any of the fights tomorrow rigged? I’ve been eyeing the (Diego) Lopes fight and I think an upset wouldn’t be too unrealistic $$.” Lopes is set to compete against Steve Garcia in a featherweight matchup.
In response, Cormier firmly stated, “No none of our fights are rigged and honestly I am appalled that you would even ask me something like that.” He also shared a message on his account that indicated he was aware of the potential backlash he might face for disclosing this information, emphasizing, “The UFC is a sport that I am deeply passionate about. I will not tolerate this type of insider behavior. Shame on anyone trying to ruin this beautiful event.”
As Cormier prepares to join Joe Rogan for the livestream of the event, he has not publicly commented further since the incident. This revelation adds a layer of intrigue to an already high-profile occasion.
