Falcons Secure Drake London with Impressive New Contract
The Atlanta Falcons have officially locked in wide receiver Drake London with a long-term contract, marking a significant move for the franchise. The annual average value (APY) of the contract stands at $35.27 million, positioning him as one of the highest-paid receivers in the league, trailing only behind Justin Jefferson.
According to sources familiar with the agreement, the contract features a substantial signing bonus of $33.656 million. London’s base salary for 2026 is set at $1.215 million, fully guaranteed. Furthermore, the deal includes an option bonus of $16.49 million for 2027, which is also fully guaranteed.
Additional bonuses include a $250,000 offseason workout bonus for 2027 and a base salary of $1.26 million, both guaranteed. The contract extends through 2030, with various incentives that could significantly increase London’s earnings based on performance metrics related to receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns over the coming years.
Specifically, if London achieves certain performance milestones, such as 225 catches or 3,000 receiving yards from 2026 to 2028, his salary for 2029 could rise by $2.1 million. The structure also includes escalators for 2030, rewarding consistent high-level performance, with the potential for an additional $9 million in earnings.
Prior to this contract, London was already under a fifth-year option valued at $16.82 million for 2026. The new five-year agreement offers a total base value of $157.88 million, with the first two years fully guaranteed and additional guarantees kicking in as the contract progresses. Despite having only one 1,000-yard season and no Pro Bowls in his first four years, the Falcons clearly see London as a cornerstone of their future success.
