Former Chiefs DB visits another NFC East team in free agency

The offseason free agency moves continue around the NFL, with a former Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl champion seeking a new team.

According to a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, former Chiefs defensive back Nazeeh Johnson recently visited the New York Giants. A week after being hosted by the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnson continues to make moves around the NFC East in free agency.

A 2022 seventh-round pick, Johnson made significant strides in 2024 after returning from a torn ACL before the start of his second season. The former Marshall standout emerged from being a top-tier special teams player for Dave Toub to becoming a starter opposite All-Pro Trent McDuffie in multiple games following the injury to Jaylen Watson.

The Chiefs have revamped their secondary this offseason through veteran free agent signings and the 2026 NFL Draft. The sixth overall selection of Mansoor Delane and the departures of McDuffie and Watson signaled a new plan for next season.

During three seasons on the field with the Chiefs, Johnson collected 66 total tackles and one sack in six starts.
