Homers, gems and steals: Vote for IndyStar baseball players of the week (May 4-May 9)

Congratulations to Kameron Blair of Hauser on winning Player of the week for Week 5. Blair threw a complete-game shutout against Jac-Cen-Del, striking out 11 and allowing just three hits over six innings.

Ryan Castetter, University

The Princeton commit hit the go-ahead double in University's win over Cathedral. This week, Castetter batted .428 with four RBIs, two doubles, three runs scored and one stolen base.

Oliver Glanzman, Lawrence North

The senior lead-off hitter batted .500 (7-for-14) with four stolen bases and six runs scored.

Drake McClurg, Center Grove

The Texas A&M commit hit three home runs and drove in six in a win over Bloomingotn North. For the week, the junior batted .667 (6-for-9) with five runs scored, eight RBIs, three home runs and one triple.

Carter Nahre, Lawrence North

Nahre pitched Lawrence North to a victory over Lutheran in the first round of the Marion County Tournament with a complete-game shutout. Nahre allowed just four hits and one walk, striking out four.

James Oliver, Hauser

Oliver threw a complete-game shutout against Oldenburg Academy, allowing just two hits and one walk, striking out 10. On the season, Oliver is 3-1 and has not allowed an earned run in 22⅓ innings.

Aiden Smith, Shelbyville

The Kentucky commit showed off his dominant two-way talent with a big week for Shelbyville. At the plate, Smith batted .667 with five runs scored, four RBIs, three home runs and one double. On the mound, Smith threw a one-hit shutout against Yorktown, striking out 11. Smith now has seven home runs this season and 18 for his career, setting a new school record.

Ian Taylor, Guerin Catholic

The George Mason commit continues to be one of the hottest hitters in the state. This week, Taylor batted .444 (4-for-9) with six runs scored, seven RBIs and three home runs. Taylor hit a home run in three straight games, giving him nine on the season.

Jasper Weaver, Lawrence North

Weaver was nearly perfect on the mound for Lawrence North in the Wildcats' win over Franklin Central in the second round Marion County Tournament. Weaver threw a no-hitter against the Flashes, striking out four. He was one walk away from a perfect game.
