Is Aaron Gordon playing for Nuggets with calf tightness in Game 6?

After winning Game 5 at home in a decisive fashion, Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets have a pivotal Game 6 in front of them against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night. A win would force a Game 7 back in Denver this Saturday.

Notably, the Nuggets were able to come out on top in Game 5 without stalwart forward Aaron Gordon, who has been dealing with left calf tightness since the early portions of this first-round playoff matchup. Both he and rising young Denver star Peyton Watson have been trying to gradually work their way back into the Nuggets' rotation from their respective soft-tissue injuries throughout the series. Gordon did try to push through the injury in last Saturday night's Game 4, but was clearly laboring on both ends of the floor and ultimately only played 23 minutes.

With a few more days of rest, will Gordon be able to rock and roll on Thursday evening in Minnesota? His precise status remains unclear, but Gordon remained listed as "questionable" on the Nuggets' final team injury report before Game 6:

Gordon's injury report designation will likely stay the same until he's more or less fully recovered. With a delicate injury like this, it's probably more about how his body feels during his pregame warmups than anything else, making him an apparent game-time decision. That is, unless Nuggets leadership elects to try and win this first-round series without Gordon so he can get more rest and recovery for a possible second-round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs next week.

For what it's worth, Gordon was spotted without a sleeve/wrap on his injured left calf at the end of Nuggets practice on Wednesday. He wore something on his calf during Game 4.

Gordon not wearing anything on his calf doesn't necessarily mean he's past this calf tightness. He could have simply been testing how he feels without it. Still, it might be a notable small-but-big detail about his playing status that shouldn't go unnoticed.

We'll see whether Gordon tries to give it a go in Game 6 as the Nuggets attempt to force a Game 7 back at home this weekend.
