Jaguars Aim to Build on Last Year's Triumph, Says Josh Hines-Allen
The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to maintain the momentum from a remarkable previous season. After struggling through a mere four wins in 2024, the team rebounded impressively, clinching 13 victories, securing the AFC South title, and earning the chance to host a playoff game. As they set their sights on 2026, the question arises: how can they ensure that the achievements of 2025 become the standard rather than an anomaly?
“It starts right now,” remarked Josh Hines-Allen during a recent appearance on the NFL Network. He emphasized the importance of beginning preparations during offseason training activities (OTAs). “We have a packed house every day. Our guys are coming in ready to work, committed to the cause, and we have a lot of competitors.” Hines-Allen, who has often operated in the background throughout his career, noted the dedication of the newcomers and returning players, all striving to improve daily.
Under the leadership of General Manager James Gladstone and Head Coach Liam Coen, the groundwork for the current Jaguars squad was laid in the first year. However, Coen has made it clear that the second year is critical for sustained success. He has stressed the need for the team to sharpen their competitive edge and maintain a sense of urgency moving forward.
Despite external criticism of their offseason moves, the Jaguars retain a substantial portion of their roster from the previous year. This continuity, combined with a second year in the same system, could provide both the offense and defense with a solid foundation to build upon.
