NBA Finals Game 3 Set to Become Record-Breaking Sporting Event

The New York Knicks have surged to a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, following a thrilling 105-104 victory in Game 2. The series now shifts to Madison Square Garden, a venue renowned for its electric atmosphere, where ticket prices are on track to reach unprecedented levels.

As Game 3 approaches, the entry price for a ticket at MSG has already reached nearly $10,000 at $9,990. However, following the Knicks' latest win, the price has jumped to $10,848, marking it as the lowest available ticket for the highly anticipated matchup. Should the Knicks manage to complete a sweep in Game 4, ticket prices are expected to escalate even further, with the get-in price currently set at $13,015. If the series extends to a Game 6 back at MSG, the minimum ticket price is already listed at $10,198, reflecting an impressive 83% surge in just three days.

Historically, ticket prices for NBA Finals games have remained below $2,000 since 2019, according to Front Office Sports. In last year's Finals featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers, the least expensive tickets were below $1,000 for all games.

To put this in perspective, previous NBA Finals ticket prices were as follows: $1,229 for the 2019 matchup between the Toronto Raptors and Warriors, $1,200 in 2021 for the Bucks vs. Suns, and $1,169 in 2023 for the Heat vs. Nuggets. In contrast, notable events like Super Bowl 60 had a get-in price of $4,552, while tickets for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Final currently start at $7,270.

As the excitement builds for Game 3, the Knicks aim to not only secure another win but also etch their name in sports history with record ticket prices.
