Jaxon Smith-Njigba receives mislabeled trophy in 'disrespectful' mix-up

Jaxon Smith-Njigba rose to superstardom in 2025, becoming the NFL's most prolific receiver while powering the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl win. Apparently it still may take a while for the public consciousness to catch up to his production.

In a recent Instagram Story, Smith-Njigba revealed a hilarious mix-up of what was supposed to be the Offensive Player of the Year award he won at NFL Honors. Yes, the same NFL Honors in which Druski butchered his name.

JSN's trophy mistakenly read, "Defensive Player of the Year," prompting the Ohio State product to admit, "It's getting disrespectful, guys." Smith-Njigba followed up his video of the trophy with a selfie encapsulating his frustration.

"Just keep the award at this point," Smith-Njigba's caption read. "Leave it in the history books tho."

In his first season without D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Smith-Njigba exploded for 119 catches, 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns with Sam Darnold under center. The sky is the limit for JSN, 24, so maybe the NFL will learn his name by the second Super Bowl, or perhaps his first MVP some day.
