Joe Burrow: Bengals Have No Excuses in Pursuit of Super Bowl Glory
The Cincinnati Bengals are poised for a significant season, with quarterback Joe Burrow expressing confidence in his team's chances of contending for the Super Bowl. After a promising run to the championship game in 2022, the Bengals have faced challenges, including roster changes and injuries, but Burrow believes they are now equipped for success.
With the addition of key players such as Dexter Lawrence, Boye Mafe, and Bryan Cook, Burrow feels the team is finally in a position to capitalize on their potential. "This is a lot of urgency, a lot of urgency this year, certainly. We have everything we need. We're deep at just about every single position on the team," he remarked, highlighting the depth and competition within the roster.
Previously, the Bengals struggled with injuries and departures, including the loss of Trey Hendrickson to the Baltimore Ravens and Cam Taylor-Britt's move to the Indianapolis Colts. These issues made a deep playoff run difficult, but with a healthier squad, Burrow is optimistic about their prospects this season.
After finishing the 2025 season with just six wins and placing third in the AFC North, the Bengals are determined to turn things around. Burrow's expectations are high, stating, "We're going in expecting to win every game that we step foot on the field. Obviously, you want to win a Super Bowl, and that's certainly the plan, but you've got to take it one day at a time, one week at a time." His remarks underscore the pressure on the team to perform.
As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Burrow and his teammates to see if they can meet these expectations and make a serious run at the Vince Lombardi trophy.
