Kinsley Pesicka of Sioux Falls Roosevelt Named South Dakota Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of the Year
Sioux Falls — Kinsley Pesicka, a senior at Sioux Falls Roosevelt, has been recognized as the South Dakota Gatorade girls soccer player of the year. The 5-foot-3 midfielder and forward showcased her exceptional skills during the fall 2025 season, netting 18 goals and providing 17 assists across 14 matches. Her outstanding performance contributed to the Rough Riders achieving a 9-2-3 record and reaching the Class AA state quarterfinals.
Roosevelt head coach Cori Bonte praised Pesicka, stating, "From the moment Kinsley stepped onto the field as a freshman, she made an immediate impact. As a senior, she elevated her play even further, leading the state in scoring." In addition to her Gatorade accolade, Pesicka was also named the state player of the year and recognized as an all-Northwest Region performer by the United Soccer Coaches. Over her high school career, she accumulated a total of 33 goals and 25 assists.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Pesicka excelled academically, graduating as the valedictorian of her class with a weighted GPA of 4.18. She was an active member of the Roosevelt High National Honor Society and contributed her time to various local initiatives, including the Best Buddies program, the Cancer Awareness Club, and Feeding South Dakota, while also coaching youth soccer.
This fall, Pesicka is set to further her education and soccer career at the University of South Dakota.
