Knicks Set Record Low for First-Quarter Points in Finals History
The New York Knicks made history for all the wrong reasons during their recent finals game, scoring just 13 points in the first quarter. This marks the lowest first-quarter total recorded by any team in a finals matchup since the Golden State Warriors managed only 11 points in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals.
The Warriors faced a daunting 20-point deficit after the first quarter of that game. Prior to the Knicks' performance, the last team to score as few as 13 points in a finals first quarter was the Milwaukee Bucks, who did so back in 1974.
