Lamar Jackson Impressed by Ravens' Rookie Talent After Week 2 of OTAs

The Baltimore Ravens have made significant investments in their offensive lineup during the 2026 NFL Draft, and quarterback Lamar Jackson is optimistic about the potential of the team's new recruits. This offseason, the Ravens welcomed several pass catchers, including wide receivers Ja'Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt, as well as tight ends Matt Hibner and Josh Cuevas.

Although Jackson's hands-on experience with the rookies has been limited so far, he expressed his satisfaction with their early performances. "This is my first week really working with those guys. So, it's been pretty smooth. I felt like we did a great job with bringing new guys in, new additions to what we need. So, it has been smooth so far," he shared.

In practice, the veteran quarterback has been particularly impressed with the young receivers. "Those are looking smooth. They are running great routes, catching the ball great," he noted. However, Jackson also reminded fans to temper their expectations from spring workouts. "It always looks good during OTAs. You can't really tell what's going on until the season actually comes, and we are actually in a real game," he warned.

Jackson emphasized the importance of evaluating players during actual games, stating, "I can never grade a guy from workouts in the offseason or during camp or stuff like that. I'll wait 'til the season's going." For now, the Ravens' rookie class is certainly leaving a positive impression on the franchise quarterback as they continue their development.
